This coat has been for the past three decades the workhorse of American infantry outerwear. The heaviest use of the M-65 Field Coat was during the Vietnam War. That's where they became a staple item in the American infantry. Talk about a Coat that is built to last, this specific coat features the NYCO wind and tear resistance that is necessary for long term use in any coat. Even better then that is the fact that this coat is 50% water repellent. Just don't mistake that statement for you being safe to swim in the M-65 Field Coat.
